Grandpa Brady's 7th Marathon

(June 9)
My father ran his 7th marathon.
We went and cheered him on!
Not his best marathon but he finished! and was still alive:)

After he cheered his grandpa on he crashed as if he had ran the marathon too!

Tuesday Tidbits

1. loves getting his hands on newspapers and the wipes bag- he was crying hysterical in the car and I threw that back and didn't hear a peep from him after that...except I did hear a lot of crunch and crackle
2. hates it when I lay his head down on the grass- he doesn't like that it pokes him and squirms
3. went swimming for the first time and hated it - maybe it was the cold water...

4. introduced new toys like a spoon, wisk, keys, plastic cup, and remote control and they hold his attention more than his real toys
5. loves baths!

Anniversary Celebration

{May 12, 2012}
Since Gary and I were apart on our actual anniversary we planned another night to go out for a couple of hours with just the two of us.
Having Austin has been a major adjustment and one thing we learned right away that if we want to have a date night it has to be planned in advance.
So I called up my sister, Lindsey, who loves Austin as if he was hers. I asked if she wanted to have a hot date with an available cutie and she jumped on it!
I made reservations at Flemmings (specializes in steaks and wine...we skipped the wine) and we were set!
The day came we kissed our sweetheart goodbye and walked out the door like teenagers set free to finally date, haha.
The night was great and food was amazing. Our conversations revolved around Austin the whole night-another thing we learned when we became parents.
Afterwords we went to City Creek and shopped. We called it a night at 9:30pm and headed home-another thing we learned...late nights are no longer fun because you are exhausted and know that you'd be up soon with the little one.
Thanks to Lindsey and also Jenny who came over to have a date with Austin!
Flemmings gave us a $25 gift card and chocolates as an Anniversary gift

Tuesday Tidbits on Wednesday

1. his second tooth came in!
I always said I wouldn't be one of those mom's...but I just couldn't resist getting a shot of those teeth
2. sat up for a couple seconds before he fell over
I let go of him right after this photo to turn off the camera and he just sat there-and then he decided to go for the grass...
3. when we help him stand he flaps like a bird
4. I am truly loved- when I put him down and go walk away to do something he gets so mad and breaks down in sobs...he then will flip over which causes him to get more mad! I think he flips because he knows it is an easy way to get me to come back fast.
I love that he loves me that much but can I just go to the bathroom in peace...
5. he has started making the motions of crawling- the only thing stopping him is getting his knees under his butt and pushing up with his arms-right now he looks like he doing an awesome breast stroke:)

Gary and I couldn't stop laughing at this photo-kinda looks like an alien, haha...with a large head...but a cute alien for sure :)

Tuesday Tidbits

1. he is growing out of his bouncy seat- I learned that I must strap him in all the time now because he is quite the wiggle worm (it is so hard to realize my baby who slept in that for the first 3 1/2 months of his life now is growing out of it)
2. he grabs everything in his reach! this past Sunday he knocked some sacrament cups full of water all over him
5. if he is super tired he will not go to anyone except Mom or Dad- or he has a major breakdown
4. his sleeping habits went down hill this week but we are starting over
5. a big reason we think his sleeping hasn't been so well is that his FIRST TOOTH poked through! it is on the bottom right

Tuesday Tidbits

1. the weather was perfect last week so we went on a lot of walks and he loved it...
2. but they usually ended in this and he's okay with it
3. he started imitating sounds and we get a kick out of it- sometimes we make sounds he can't figure out how to do and you can see his brain working hard trying to hard to do it too
4. hair! He might not be balled forever! up close on the top of his head he is starting to grow some
5. rolling over- he has gotten faster! One minute I am flipping him back and the next minute he is on his belly again calling for Mom to come save him. Sometimes he gets his arm stuck and that is when he really calls for help.
6. he is sleeping A LOT better but we don't have it down to perfection yet
