Tuesday Tidbits

1. The day finally came to fly to Utah for a month and you kept saying over and over "I am so excited".
2. Your energy level since being in Utah is on overdrive. I am exhausted trying to keep you entertained.
3. Every person and animal has a name and if not then I must come up with one. You still think mom, knows all, even everyone's name.
4. You are telling family members they have big belly's and asking if there is a baby in their belly. Ugh
5. The woman saying the opening prayer in sacrament meeting was saying a lengthy prayer. You kept saying out loud, "in the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN" over and over, it was funny.

1. Ear infection #2 hit last week and we are still recovering. Brother passed on his cold. Only one more and you can get tubes!
2. And you are teething. No teeth poking through yet but I can just tell by looking at your gums.
3. So your sleeping and eating is shot. So tired.
4. You started biting me! It isn't like super painful but painful enough. Another reason why I think you are teething.
5. Extra needy and cuddly and I hope this all passes because since Dad isn't around I need to leave you on the floor for a minute without a freak out.

Tuesday Tidbits

1. The highlight of this week was having Grandpa and Grandma Allen visit. You were so excited and were a ball of energy the whole day before they arrived. You had two plans of what you wanted and that was to take them to the Science Center and have FUN! We exceeded both.
2. Unfortunately, you also came down with a nasty cold and cough. It worked out in your favor though, because you got to spend church time at home with Grandma Allen all by yourself.
3. You received letters in the mail from Grandma Allen (before she got here), Grandma Kaye, Aunt Lindsey, and cousin Carter this week and you absolutely love getting letters written to you!
4. You know that you have the next birthday after Dad's. We celebrated Dad's birthday over the weekend since we had company and you thought your birthday was going to be the next day. We had a lesson on months and time.
5. Your pre-school teacher told me you love making crafts and that is true. Everyday you are doing something different with paper and markers.

1. You had your first ride in a swing. I am not sure what your thoughts were but you weren't crying so I'd say it was successful.
2. You are playing Peek-a-boo! It is the cutest thing. You cover your face with your blanket and we say "where is Lennox" and you pull the blanket off and smile and giggle with delight. We easily could play this game all day it is adorable.
3. You can sit up unassisted!!! You aren't close to leaving you alone with out pillows but probably in the next month.
4. You caught Austin's cold and it has interrupted your sleep. UGH!
5. This might be my many favorite things I love and hate about this stage. You are starting to put your arms out to me. I love it because I feel so loved and needed and sometimes that's just all I need to remember it's worth it. Other times, this MOMMA JUST NEEDS A BREAK.
6. I also need to document that you are no where close to crawling. Grandma Allen tried to get you to spend time on your tummy and reach forward to toys. You just flipped right back over as fast as it took her to get you on your tummy. I just know you will do it on your own time.

Tuesday Tidbits

1. We were teaching you about the Holy Ghost and one day you put your ear next to mine and with concern you said, "Mom, I can't hear the Holy Ghost?!" Day in and day out we are reminded about how everything is so literal with you.
2. You are having issues with pooping on the potty and Dad and I are going crazy. You are refusing to go again. UGH....
 3. You started Pre -school this week and so far you are loving it! And so am I!

1. This week went better with sleep training and it looks like you are figuring it out.
2. If I take you to the gym during morning nap time I'll put you in their "miracle swing" and you fall asleep until I come back. WIN WIN!
3. If you see something within a reasonable distance from you, you will roll. I've seen you do 2 rolls in a row and that is huge because you are not a mover.

Tuesday Tidbits

1. Dad was reading you scriptures and it was on the story about the women and children being burned. You completly melted down and started crying because you were so sad the kids were burned. Dad explained that the kids went to heaven so it was ok, and that they went to live with Jesus and Heavenly Father. You got really sad again and said, "but the kids will miss their mommy's and daddy's". You were breaking our hearts to see how concerened you were. Again, Dad tried to comfort you and tell you that the kids will see their mommy's and daddy's again when they die and go to heaven. In the end you prayed to not be burned and were happy that we all get to live in Heaven one day.
I still cannot believe you made that connection and how tender hearted you can be but I am so grateful for your sweet sweet heart.
2.We went to the zoo and you got to feed the giraffe and pull the train whistle.
3. It was meet the teacher for preschool this past week and you were so scared. It really shocked me because you are not a shy child and once I threaten you into the building and we met you teachers I couldn't get you to leave.
4. Another night reading scriptures it was my turn. We talked about the Sons of Helaman on missions and so that led to a conversation about how you were going to go on a mission. You said you were scared about people saying no. I told you I'd send you lots of packages with your favorite treats if you go on a mission. You told me you want me to send you salad because missionaries like salad. And when you are bigger and a missionary you will want salad, but not now because you aren't bigger. So I asked , "so you want me to send you salad?"
"Yes, I like salad when I'm a missionary"
5. We made another chain countdown for when Grandma and Grandpa Allen come and when we leave to go to Utah. You love telling anymore and everyone about it.
Mailing a letter to Grandma and Grandpa Allen
1. We started sleeping training you at night. The doctor said there is no reason to feed you at night anymore and I took that idea and ran with it! I decided I will not feed you unless it is 4am or later. The first night you cried pretty long but each night it got less and less. It has been a week now and I can't say you have it down because you still cry every night but mostly a whimper and then fall back asleep.
2. I have to mix the veggies with fruit to get you to eat it. I feed you banana oatmeal in the afternoon and veggies and fruit at dinner. I still nurse you every 3-4 hours.
3. I let you naw on a piece of watermelon. I was freaking out because I was worried you might choke. Dad kept reassuring me that all was going to fine. I finally couldn't take it (you were breaking it up) and took it away. The "angry lennox" occured.
4. You can sit up unassisted for a few seconds as long as everything is perfect and you don't choose to nose dive or throw yourself backwards. You also are getting better at sitting in your high chair.
5. You love your brother so much. You love watching him and smiling with him. But as I have mentioned before, you do not like him touching you! I love that you both love each other so much.
At the zoo being adorable

Tuesday Tidbits

1. So I've been singing the songs you've made up before bed and one night, a few minutes after I left we heard you crying. Dad went in and found you in a puddle of tears. I guess the "friend" song just really broke your heart because it starts off with how your friends moved but you still have a few friends here. Well, you were devastated that you only had 3 friends and you want more! Our hearts broke with yours and since that night I decided we wont talk about the friends that moved and just about the ones we have here in Iowa and the ones we will make in school.
2. School starts next week and I don't know who is more excited ;)
3. You have a nasty running nose and cough this week.
4. Grandma Kaye taught you to say "excuse me" but we are working on how to use that appropriately. Right now instead of "MOM!" I get "EXCUSE ME MOM" times 10 :)
5. You did not want to watch or even be in the same room as Lennox when he got his shots. I am not sure if it is the tender side or you were scared for yourself.
1. You had a checkup with the Derm doctor and it has spread but their is nothing can do except just keep putting the cream on.
2. You are getting more and more mobile on you back from rolling or back scooting. I try my best to give you tummy time but you flip so dang fast I couldn't even get a picture of you on your belly if I tried. Austin was army scooting by now so I am getting kinda worried because you have NO interest.
3. You can sit up for a second by yourself before folding in half or backwards.
4. You are loving the jumper!!!!
5. Your 6 month appointment fine. You recovered from your shots so fast and no bad side effects after!
